PGE warns of false information circulating about power outages

Customers reported they were getting notifications regarding power restoration and emergency transformers being shipped, which PGE said is false.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Customers of Portland General Electric (PGE) reported they had received notifications on Sunday night that appeared to be from the utility company with important information about storm-related power outages.

The message read: “PGE advised that if your power is NOT restored this evening by 8:00pm PST, it is highly likely that power will not be restored until by NEXT Monday. They are shipping emergency transformers from Texas and expect that to be a TEN DAY process.”
