Providence blamed its current financial state on reduced reimbursement from insurance companies and higher labor costs related to Oregon’s safe staffing laws.
OREGON, USA — Providence will lay off 134 Oregon employees, including some union members, amid “restructuring efforts” this week.
According to Providence, since the beginning of the year, it has identified dozens of open positions within the state that will not be refilled in order to cut spending. The 134 Oregon employees will move into open positions “where possible.”
