A federal holiday honoring the American labor movement just so happens to be the last three-day weekend unofficially marking the end of summer. Here’s how to make the most of it.

Lest this be confused with the other state fair down in Puyallup, the Evergreen State Fair returns for its second stretch over Labor Day weekend. This year, find the obligatory live concerts, carnival rides, and speedway events, along with the rodeo, which is finally back after a Covid hiatus. Admission on Labor Day is discounted, but that unlimited carnival ride wristband still costs $37 a pop.
