An Oregon Farmworker Dies During the State’s Recent Heat Wave

A Willamette Valley farm worker has died of complications related to the state’s record-breaking heat, according to Oregon Occupational Safety & Health. Salem’s Statesman Journal reports that the St. Paul Fire District responded to a Saturday afternoon call reporting a medical emergency on in the 7600 block of Champoeg Road NE, where they found an unnamed agricultural worker unresponsive and not breathing. He was declared dead at Providence Newberg Medical Center.
