Amazon Starts Collecting Texas Sales Taxes

Seattle-based Amazon.com has started to collect sales taxes in Texas over the weekend, as part of a deal with the state over past tax liabilities in the state. The deal with the state resolves a dispute over back taxes with Texas, which was resolved by Amazon by promising to collect sales taxes, creation of 2,500 jobs in the state, and a pledge to spend $200M in capital investments.
