PORTLAND, Ore. — After more than 20 years, Urban Fondue and Bartini in Northwest Portland announced Wednesday they will be closing their doors in February, citing a decline in neighborhood conditions, “absorbent” city taxes and an untenable landlord relationship.
Opened in winter 2003, Urban Fondue and Bartini married fondue dining with martinis in two next-door restaurant spaces on Northeast Glisan Street. People had the option to enjoy the “smoldering low lit dining room” of Urban Fondue or Bartini, a more cozy and “glam” martini
