Legacy providers vote to ratify first contract, capping nearly month-long strike

Dozens of advanced practice providers at Legacy Health went on strike starting Dec. 2. Now those striking workers have voted to accept a deal.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Striking advance practice providers at Legacy Health have voted to ratify their first contract with the hospital system, capping a month-long strike that ended Dec. 30.

The striking group included some 135 APPs, including nurse practitioners, physician associates and clinical nurse specialists. They hit the picket lines beginning on Dec. 2, calling for better pay — particularly for night and extended shifts — and a committee to address workplace issues.
