Vancouver Giants duel Portland Winterhawks in doubleheader before heading into holidays

The Vancouver Giants head into this final weekend before the WHL’s holiday break missing five forwards and playing a home-and-home set against the first-place team in the Western Conference.

Vancouver (12-14-3-2) hosts the Portland Winterhawks (21-4-2-1) at the Langley Events Centre tonight (7:30 p.m.) and then visits Portland Saturday (6 p.m.) before shutting down for the holidays.

Vancouver is without first-line forwards Zack Ostapchuk (Team Canada) and Samuel Honzek (Team Slovakia) due to world junior commitments and also has wingers Ethan Semeniuk (upper body injury), Kyle Bochek (upper body injury) and Colton Langkow (illness) on the injured list.
