Trevor Linden helps Chilliwack Chiefs set BCHL attendance record

The Vancouver Canucks great was the special guest for the Chilliwack Chiefs’ Dairy Appreciation Night on Saturday and the game against the Cranbrook Bucks at the Chilliwack Coliseum drew what the B.C. Hockey League is calling a league attendance record.

The announced crowd was 5,008, which betters the previous mark of 4,800, set when the Quesnel Millionaires visited the Penticton Vees on Jan. 2, 2009. The league, which was founded in 1961, has been tracking such stats since 2003-04.

The Chilliwack Coliseum has seating for “almost 5,000,” according to the Chiefs’ website. There’s no listing for standing room
