SFU president Joy Johnson is meeting with alumni and stakeholders this week about the school’s embattled football program.
An SFU spokesperson confirmed the sit-downs in an email Wednesday morning but didn’t provide further details. Farhan Lalji, who’s a part of the alumni group trying to keep the program afloat, also said that meetings were happening and that he “appreciates Dr. Johnson keeping the door open to consider any new information she may not have had at the time of the decision.”
Alums complained that disbanding the program was never discussed with them beforehand and SFU was scheduled to play one last season in the Texas-based Lone Star
