Canucks: Oliver Ekman-Larsson out for 'some weeks'

The Vancouver Canucks will be without one of their most experienced blueliner for “some weeks,” head coach Rick Tocchet says.

Speaking Saturday morning ahead of the Canucks home game vs. the Philadelphia Flyers at Rogers Arena, Tocchet said that Oliver Ekman-Larsson sprained his left ankle during Wednesday’s 6-4 loss to the New York Rangers and won’t be back for some time.

It’s been a tough season for Ekman-Larsson, who the Canucks acquired in a trade from the Arizona Coyotes in the summer of 2021. He’s struggled many nights defensively. He has just 22 points in 54 games. Opponents are scoring 3.9 goals per 60 minutes of
