Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko suffers first-period leg injury

Thatcher Demko looked liked he was having a Roberto Luongo-like performance.

On a night where Luongo, along with Henrik and Daniel Sedin, were honoured in a pre-game ceremony for their 2022 induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, it was Demko who looked like he was channelling some Luongo magic.

The Vancouver Canucks starting goaltender had made a series of stellar stops Thursday against the Florida Panthers before the roof caved in.  Not only did the Panthers strike for three goals in 59 seconds late in the opening frame, the third goal by Ryan Lomberg resulted in an apparent Demko right-leg injury.
