Canucks: Elias Pettersson nominated for King Clancy Memorial Trophy

Elias Pettersson wasn’t nominated for the Selke trophy this season and given the strong field of candidate for the Hart Trophy it’s unlikely he’ll be a finalist for league MVP, but the Vancouver Canucks centre is still up for an NHL award: the King Clancy Memorial Trophy.

The award is presented annually “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

In Pettersson’s case, he’s being recognized for his philanthropic efforts in the community. He’s long supported the Canucks for Kids, Canuck Place and children and families who spend time at B.C.
