Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau says his team may be battling a virus, so the club has called up forward Lane Pederson from AHL Abbotsford.
The Canucks host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night at Rogers Arena and may be without Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.
Both forwards were absent from Friday’s practice at the University of B.C. because they weren’t feeling well, Boudreau said.
Boeser was a late scratch from Wednesday’s game in Calgary.
Boudreau doesn’t know if either would play Saturday.
Pederson has 17 goals in 18 games for Abbotsford since being acquired alongside Ethan Bear in a trade.
