Canucks: Brock Boeser’s agent given permission to seek a trade

The door may be opening for Brock Boeser’s exit from Vancouver.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada that Boeser’s agent Ben Hankinson has been given permission to speak directly to teams about finding a possible trading partner.

That’s a trade request, if you read between the lines.

Hankinson declined to comment and Canucks president Jim Rutherford didn’t reply to a request for comment.

It’s been a difficult season for Boeser, who has only scored three times.

He came into the season with 30 goals as a target, but he’s struggled to finish after suffering a pre-season wrist injury that required surgery.
