Tacoma-Pierce County Humane Society at ‘maximum capacity,’ needs adopters

A Tacoma animal shelter is looking for homes for dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs and other critters.

Dog Aging Project co-directed by UW researchers needs participants

Communications manager Lindsey Heaney isn’t sure why, but she tells The News Tribune that the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County received more than 650 animals in June alone, and over 170 so far in July.

“So right now we are at maximum capacity for the number of dogs, and cats, and critters that we have here available for adoption,” Heaney said.
