Strong winds, snow cut power to 60,000+ in Puget Sound area

Thousands of people lost power across western Washington after a late November snowfall, rain, and high winds swept across the area.

On Tuesday night, more than 80,000 people lost power due to the weather, with 35 to 40 mph gusts of wind.

Wintry weather causing power outages across the region

As crews work to restore power to affected areas, some have started to see power return to their houses, but more than 60,000 are still left in the dark Wednesday morning.

As of 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, more than 24,000 outages have been reported by Snohomish PUD, with the bulk of the outages happening in the Lynnwood area.
