Storm knocks down trees, power lines, with handful of Puget Sound schools closing on Monday

A storm swept across the Puget Sound region over the weekend, with windy and rainy conditions expected to continue through the early portion of the week.

High winds on Sunday knocked out power for thousands of people on Sunday, knocking down trees and power lines, and killing two people after a tree landed on a car in Fall City.

As of early Monday morning, just over 13,000 Seattle City Light customers are without power, with another 25,000 Puget Sound Energy customers also impacted.
