One person shot, injured after gunfire rings out inside Tacoma Mall

Law enforcement from multiple agencies converged on Tacoma Mall after shots were fired inside the food court Friday.

The shooting happened at 7:08 p.m. Friday evening.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darren Moss Jr. said one victim was found with a gunshot wound. He also said people hid in the mall and stores went into lockdown after at least 3 to 15 shots were fired.

According to a report from The News Tribune, a 28-year-old woman shopping with a friend at Bath and Body Works said she heard up to 15 gunshots Friday evening. However, the exact number of shots and victims have not been confirmed as of yet.
