Spring is in full swing come May, meaning a lot of sun, a lot of rain, a lot of flowers, and a lot of festivals. From the obscure to the effortlessly seasonal, there’s a lot going on this month.

Is this the weirdest annual event in Washington? It dates back to 1896 and celebrates, well, irrigation ditches on the Olympic Peninsula. (You made your own fun in 1896, you see.)
