Soldier now a wanted man after love triangle shooting

No one was injured when a fight ended in gunfire late Thursday after a Joint-Base Lewis McChord soldier was caught with another woman by his pregnant girlfriend, police said.

The incident began about 9:50 p.m. at an apartment complex in south Tacoma where the soldier had been drinking with several friends.

According to Tacoma police, the soldier’s pregnant girlfriend showed up to surprise him and found him with another woman.

According to Tacoma police, the soldier’s pregnant girlfriend showed up to surprise him and found him with another woman.

The soldier and pregnant woman began fighting and the woman damaged the soldier’s truck, prompting him to pull out a semi-automatic handgun and shoot her car windshield, police said.

No one was hit by the gunshot and the soldier ran off.

Officers surrounded the area and used a police dog and State Patrol aircraft to help with the search, but the soldier remains at large.

Officials said the soldier lives in the Lacey area and investigators have advised Lacey police and officials at Fort Lewis to be on the lookout for the him.
