I-90 east at North Bend, I-5 south near Lake Samish closed due to icy roads, crashes

After a crash on eastbound Interstate 90, the Washington State Department of Transportation has closed the highway starting at North Bend as snow continues to fall overnight and into Wednesday morning.

The road had to be closed because, according to WSDOT, there have been “multiple spinouts and collisions” on the road as driving conditions worsened.

School districts across the sound cancel, delay class, with more snow on the way

While the eastbound remains closed, chains are required westbound on Wednesday.

Eastbound I-90 is closed at milepost 34 at North Bend. Several collisions east of there. Chains required westbound at Snoqualmie Pass.
