Dori: Teachers’ unions push King County health to extend mask mandates in schools to May 1

School kids in New York could ditch their COVID masks while outdoors this week. In Oregon, school masks will be optional starting March 19. Even the CDC has relaxed mask guidance across the country for public settings – including schools.

And while Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has announced indoor mask use will become optional March 12, union leaders from nine King County school districts are pushing the Seattle-King County Public Health Department to make school masks mandatory until at least May 1.
