70-degree weather on tap across region, followed by chance of light snow flurries on Sunday

A storm swept across Western Washington on Monday, but in just a couple days, the Seattle area could end up seeing its warmest weather of the year to date.

As the National Weather Service notes, “colder unstable air” on Monday brought heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and isolated thunderstorms up and down the region. But as it further points out, “the big news will be warming temperatures” starting on Wednesday and peaking on Thursday.

Highs in the Puget Sound Region on Wednesday are expected to climb into the upper 50s to low 60s, before topping out around 70 degrees the following day. If Seattle
