4 injured in two-car crash on Seattle’s Ballard Bridge

Four people were injured Saturday morning in a two-car accident that closed the Ballard Bridge for about an hour, emergency officials said.

Firefighters and medics responded to the scene at about 8:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a multi-vehicle crash.

Arriving at the scene, emergency responders found that a taxi and a Prius had collided on the bridge.

Three people in the Prius were taken to the hospital with various injuries. The taxi driver also was injured.

Three people in the Prius were taken to the hospital with various injuries. The taxi driver also was injured.

A woman in the Prius’ back seat was the most seriously hurt. She suffered several fractures and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. One other person in the Prius also was taken to Harborview.

The taxi driver was taken to Swedish Hospital in Ballard with neck injuries. A passenger in the Prius also was taken to Swedish.

Officers are investigating the cause of the accident.

All lanes of the Ballard Bridge were reopened by about 9:25 a.m.
