Vancouver man accused of attempting to abduct child selling lemonade, police say

Police said that the suspect, 35-year-old Benjamin Michael Kelley, was arrested and booked for attempted kidnapping.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Vancouver police arrested a man for allegedly abducting an 11-year-old child at a lemonade stand Tuesday in Clark County.

Benjamin Michael Kelley, 35, of Vancouver was in court Wednesday on a charge of attempted kidnapping in the second degree. He was being held on $50,000 bail.

According to court documents, police responded at 911 calls just after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at an apartment complex on Northeast 109th Avenue in Vancouver.
