Two-alarm fire destroys home outside of Sandy

A two-alarm fire destroyed a home outside of Sandy on Monday, fire officials said.

“The whole second story was toppling down into the first floor when we arrived,” Schneider said. “We went to defensive attack.”

About 20 firefighters spent more than six hours battling the blaze, Schneider said. They also rescued three dogs from inside the 2,750 square-foot home.

There were no reported injuries and nobody was home when the fire broke out. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
