Students protest after Canby School District removes 35 books from school libraries

Sources tell KGW a school board member filed to remove the books from schools and the district decided to pull the books instead of waiting for a review process.

CANBY, Ore. — Canby High School students staged a protest Wednesday in response to the school district’s removal of three dozen books from their school libraries.

“The whole point of education is to learn and grow through knowledge, and I’m worried we’re not going to get that chance if we sit back and let [this] happen,” said Jason Hupp, a CHS senior.
