Madison Root returned this week for a second appearance on The Glenn Beck Program, just days before she’s scheduled to swing by downtown’s Saturday Market for a “Kiss Off Portland” event.

On Wednesday, the Lake Oswego 11-year-old told Beck that she’s sold at least 10,000 orders of mistletoe since she was thwarted from hawking her sprigs at the Skidmore Fountain on Nov. 30.

Madison said that she has hired 28 workers, including two homeless people, to box and ship her mistletoe. She is paying them $9 an hour, which is five cents above Oregon’s minimum wage. Madison added that she’s also paying for another girl’s braces.

“You’re like out of central casting,” Beck said. “You are just so perfect the way you respond to everything.”

According to her website, Madison plans to hold a “Kiss Off Portland” event at the Skidmore Fountain on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2:30 p.m.
