Man flees Northeast Portland crash scene, leaving girl in the car, police say

Police say Arnell Wendell Brown plowed his car into a power pole in Northeast Portland after fleeing officers.
 Police arrested a man after he allegedly plowed a car into a power pole in Northeast Portland and fled the scene Monday night – leaving behind a 12-year-old girl in the passenger seat. 

The 43-year-old man later crashed his car into a power pole on the 10300 block of Northeast Prescott Street around 7:25 p.m., Simpson said. Brown bolted from the wreckage on foot.

Officers found a 12-year-old girl in the passenger seat of Brown’s car when they arrived on scene. The girl, who is the daughter of one of Brown’s associates, did not appear to have any injuries, Simpson said. 

Police tracked Brown down to Northeast 103rd Avenue and Tillamook Street and arrested him. He is at the Multnomah County jail awaiting charges.
