A 55-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly attempting to abduct a toddler at Skinner Butte Park in Eugene, Oregon.
Eugene Police responded to the park at 248 Cheshire Avenue around 10:11 a.m. on August 5 following multiple reports of a physical altercation and concerns of a child kidnapping. When officers arrived, they found Anthony Wayne Reed, 55, on top of a 74-year-old man who had reportedly tried to stop him from taking the child.
Witnesses told police that the victim had been at the park with his 19-month-old grandchild when Reed, a stranger, suddenly approached and picked up the child. He began walking away
