Camp Creek Fire near Bull Run Dam grows past 1,200 acres; Portland water remains safe

Officials said the fire was 0% contained as of Sunday afternoon. The fire area is less than 2 miles from both of Portland’s primary drinking water reservoirs.

SANDY, Ore. — The Camp Creek Fire burning in the Bull Run Watershed east of Portland has grown to 1,226 acres and is 0% contained as of early Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials. 

The fire was sparked by a lightning strike Thursday evening during a spate of thunderstorms in western Oregon.
