Beaverton man dead after car drives into Commonwealth Lake

CEDAR HILLS, Ore. — A Beaverton man is dead after a vehicle drove into Commonwealth Lake on Monday morning, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) reported. Commonwealth Lake is located in Cedar Hills, about two miles north of Beaverton.

WCSO deputies responded to a report that a vehicle had gone into the lake at 5:15 a.m. Monday. They found the car partially submerged. Once the vehicle was removed from the lake, deputies found a man inside the vehicle. He was dead.

The sheriff’s office identified the man found inside the car as 56-year-old Mark Shelton of Beaverton.
