PORTLAND, Ore. — Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez finds herself walking a political tightrope that few lawmakers would envy. The second-term Democrat represents Washington’s 3rd Congressional District — a seat she describes as fundamentally “red,” having voted for Trump in all three elections he appeared on the ballot.
“This was not drawn to be purple seat,” Gluesenkamp Perez said in a recent interview on KGW’s Straight Talk. “This is a red seat.”
