Verizon customers waiting on $20 refund after outage warned about scam messages

The scam reportedly revolves around Verizon customers getting a text claiming they need to click a link to get their $20 credit after last week’s outage.

WASHINGTON — If you’re waiting on the $20 refund from Verizon after last week’s massive outage, be on the lookout for scammers trying to steal your personal info. 

A social media post from the Jones County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia highlighted the scam:
