‘Vast majority’ of unionized OHSU employees vote in favor of a strike, union says

More than 8,000 OHSU employees are represented by the union, and an ‘overwhelming percentage’ voted to authorize a strike should the union declare one.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Thousands of unionized workers at Oregon Health & Science University recently voted in support of a strike should the bargaining team declare one, union representatives told KGW.

Oregon AFSCME Local 328 and the university have been in negotiations for nearly a year now over proposed pay increases. The union is asking that of the OHSU employees it represents be paid at least $27 an hour.
