Trader Joe’s in Southeast Portland will reopen Monday after asbestos exposure

The location at 4715 Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard closed last month due to the discovery of asbestos during a renovation project.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Trader Joe’s store in Southeast Portland that closed last month after an asbestos exposure will reopen Monday, April 6.

Trader Joe’s public relations manager Nakia Rhode on Friday confirmed the return of the store, located at 4715 Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard in Portland.

In early March, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said it and several other agencies were investigating the store, which closed to customers and employees.
