SALEM, Ore. — Oregon’s state treasurer called on the Trump administration to reverse course before tariffs start more directly impacting consumers as early as Friday due to an executive order signed by the president in late July.
Treasurer Elizabeth Steiner, formerly a Democratic state senator and co-chair of the legislative committee responsible for the state budget, referred to the rule change as a tax that will cost American families.
