Stone Soup PDX opens new café in Montavilla to train workers facing barriers

Stone Soup PDX opened its café at Glisan Landing to expand their culinary training program for people overcoming employment barriers.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Stone Soup PDX celebrated the grand opening of its new Stone Soup Café at Glisan Landing in Montavilla on Monday, marking a significant expansion for the nonprofit culinary training program.

The café, located at 7400 Northeast Glisan Street at Glisan Landing, will serve as both a public gathering place and training ground for individuals overcoming barriers to employment, including homelessness, recent incarceration and recovery.

Stone Soup PDX has trained more than 200 individuals and coordinated and prepared more than 500,000 meals
