TORONTO — Canada’s main stock index was trading lower as of late-morning Friday along with U.S. markets as commodities were also trending down.
The S&P/TSX composite index was down 36.64 points at 26,173.92.
In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 32.67 points at 42,177.81. The S&P 500 index was down 15.21 points at 5,898.12, while the Nasdaq was down 83.91 points at 19,091.96.
The Canadian dollar traded for 72.73 cents US compared with 72.43 cents US on Thursday.
The July crude oil contract was down 13 cents US at US$60.81 per barrel and the July natural gas contract was down eight cents US at US$3.45 per
