TORONTO — Canada’s main stock index was trending lower in late-morning trading Wednesday while U.S. markets were mixed.
The S&P/TSX composite index was down 13.19 points at 27,526.69 as energy, financial and industrials dipped.
In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 60.66 points at 44,572.33. The S&P 500 index was up 2.60 points at 6,373.46, while the Nasdaq composite was up 53.83 points at 21,152.11.
The Canadian dollar traded for 72.39 cents US compared with 72.62 cents US on Tuesday as the Bank of Canada held its key interest rate at 2.75 per cent Wednesday.
