The owner of Smitty’s Taphouse in Sellwood is opening a new tavern, called Steely’s, in the old Gigantic Brewing space on Southeast Hawthorne.
Tyler Smith, owner of Smitty’s, bought the 2,040 square-foot building at 4343 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd. from the team at Gigantic, which remodeled the space in 2022. Smitty’s in Sellwood, after three years, will close at an undetermined date, making the new spot Smith’s sole location.
