‘Severe burns’ prompt recall of Gourmia pressure cookers sold at Best Buy

The recall impacts 43,500 pressure cookers sold between 2017 and 2020.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling more than 43,000 Gourmia pressure cookers after receiving multiple reports about “severe second-degree burn injuries.”

The recall, issued Tuesday, Feb. 24, said the lid of the pressure cooker can open while it’s still pressurized. This can lead hot contents to unintentionally spray out while in use and could cause burn hazards.
