Seattle businesses offer olive branch to Canadians on important weekend amid political animosity

According to data from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the number of border crossings from Canada has dropped sharply.

SEATTLE — Amid continued tensions between the U.S. and Canada, the annual series that draws thousands from north of the border to Seattle will commence Friday night at T-Mobile Park.

Fans of the Toronto Blue Jays from across Canada flock to Seattle each year for a series that has become a unique rivalry. To entice the many Canadians that will be in town this weekend, some local businesses are offering discounts aimed at tourists.
