Portland’s business leaders have released an open letter that rejects the White House’s deployment of federal troops to the city

The city’s business leaders say the drastic Trump Administration action isn’t warranted during what’s been a sleepy September.

The letter, released by the Portland Metro Chamber early this morning, ” calls such action counterproductive to Portland’s recovery and urges the Trump Administration to cease outdated narratives and disparagement of the city,” according to a press release. The Chamber invites other organizations and elected officials to add their signatures to the letter.

Those doing so would join Oregon
