Portland Opera launches $5M emergency fundraising campaign

Portland Opera on Tuesday launched a $5 million fundraising campaign to close a budget deficit and ensure that it can mount its next season.

Dubbed “Keep Portland Operatic,” the campaign’s goal is to raise $1.5 million by the end of June. Already, Oregon Community Foundation has contributed $1 million toward that milestone. Opera leaders hope to raise the full amount in 16 months.
