For the last few years, the folks behind Frog Ferry have failed to find public funding for their water transit plan. Now, they’re asking for community buyers.
PORTLAND, Ore. — A plan to put passenger ferries on the Willamette River is still afloat, even if it’s not in the water. Backers announced Wednesday that since public funding hasn’t been forthcoming, they’re launching a fundraiser in hopes of getting part-owners from the community aboard.
The reveal happened Wednesday morning near the banks of the Willamette. It’s the latest in a years-long push to reshape Portland’s waterfront by way of the “Frog Ferry.”
