PORTLAND, Ore. — Workers from a Portland Albertsons location set to close this July will largely be transferred to nearby Safeway or Albertsons locations, according to the company.
Albertsons confirmed to KGW that the Southwest Portland location at 5415 Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway will close, but they said the 87 workers would not necessarily be laid off.
“Most, if not all, associates will be placed in nearby Safeway or Albertsons locations,” said Jill McGinnis, communications director of Albertson’s Portland division.
