SALEM, Ore. — The state of Oregon is exploring the possibility of acquiring Abiqua Falls, a scenic waterfall in the Santiam State Forest, currently owned by the Abbey Foundation of Oregon. Lawmakers from both parties are pursuing the purchase.
The drive to the trailhead can be challenging, with steep roads and potholes, but visitors are rewarded with a striking 92-foot waterfall. Last month, the Abbey Foundation put the property on the market.
