HILLSBORO, Ore. — A bipartisan bill working its way through the Oregon State Senate could give Hillsboro a major boost to its tech and manufacturing opportunities, but some local residents are skeptical about what it will mean for them.
The Oregon JOBS Act, formally known as Senate Bill 1586, would expand the city’s Urban Growth Boundary by around 370 acres and rezone just shy of 1,400 acres for industrial use.
The bill also extends and expands an existing 5-year tax credit for advanced manufacturing, semiconductor research
